DroneSense now allows users to screen share video feeds to Operations Hub on Android (no iOS screen sharing support available at this time) devices from non-supported aircraft such as the DJI Avata (and others that use a mobile device to view the video feed). Screen sharing is a paid feature. Please contact your Account Manager or Customer Success Manager for further details. Note that both the DroneSense app and DroneSense CoPilot app support screen sharing.
Installing DroneSense and DroneSense CoPilot
Navigate to the install page for the install instructions:
DroneSense CoPilot is also available from the iOS App Store but contains different functionality (MSAT and Skydio Streaming) - NOT screen sharing.
CoPilot has a slightly different app icon from the main DroneSense piloting app:
Screensharing to OpsHub
Android Screensharing
- Open and log in to the DroneSense app or DroneSense CoPilot app.
- Once you're logged in, tap Screen Sharing.
- Select a mission of your choice. Optionally, you can modify your callsign and select your Device Type.
- A pop-up will appear, prompting you to allow the DroneSense or DroneSense CoPilot app to screencast your device.
- Tap Start Now to initiate screencasting.
- Minimize the DroneSense or DroneSense CoPilot app and open the app you wish to screencast, such as using DJI Fly to control the DJI Avata. The DroneSense app will continue running in the background to stream to OpsHub. If you kill the DroneSense app, the screencasting will end.
- While you are screencasting, your location and your device screen will be shared on OpsHub.
An app notification will persist on the device notification box. - To end screencasting, leave the mission by clicking on your initials in the status bar and then click the blue arrow next to the mission name.
NOTE - While using the DJI Goggles 3 with the Avata 2, if a user switches to the Real View PiP (Picture in Picture) view, the video feed will not stream through OpsHub. The drone video cannot be inset. It must be displayed full screen to stream.
