The Distance, Direction & Bearing indicator on the telemetry bar provides quite a bit of useful information, but can seem a bit counter-intuitive to those who are used to other flight control tools.
Distance
The most straightforward element is the distance indicator. This readout provides an estimate of the distance between the drone and the pilot.
Note that if this value can be less accurate if you are using a WiFi-only iPad, as those devices do not have a GPS chip in them to provide a more precise location for the pilot.
Direction
The left indicator shows the direction the drone is relative to how the pilot is facing.
Bearing
The right indicator shows which direction the drone is facing, relative to the pilot.
Using These Indicators to Find Your Drone
You can use these indicators to quickly find your drone. The Direction indicator will help you locate where the drone is relative to your position. The Bearing indicator will help you identify the direction your drone is facing relative to your position. If you turn yourself and the drone such that both indicators are pointed up, you should be able to fly the drone forward to return it to your location.
