What is IDS-B?
IDS-B allows your team and select neighboring agencies using DroneSense to share basic drone telemetry with one another to improve airspace awareness and operational safety.
Here’s how it works:
Imagine City FD deploys a drone to monitor a fire on the 300 block of 14th Street, while City PD deploys another drone to pursue a suspect nearby on the 300 block of 15th Street. Without coordination, both drones could unknowingly operate in close proximity, creating a hazard.
With IDS-B, your Operations Hub (OpsHub) map displays nearby drones from participating organizations, showing basic telemetry like aircraft position, altitude, and organization name—helping pilots stay aware and avoid potential conflicts.
Example of IDS-B in Action:
Your organization’s drones appear as usual in OpsHub.
Other participating agencies’ drones display as smaller icons on the OpsHub map, showing their organization and altitude for quick deconfliction.
Early Access Details:
- IDS-B is currently in Early Access, so availability is limited.
- Shared drone telemetry is only visible on the OpsHub website for now; controller display is not yet supported.
- All flights are shared live via OpsHub; there is no mission or flight filtering.
- Data is temporary—only live telemetry is shared between groups, with no post-flight storage or sync.
- We welcome your feedback to improve this feature! Submit your feedback here.
