Keeping your DJI aircraft, sensors and equipment in a state of readiness is paramount to successful UAS team operations. We never want to show up on scene and not be able to get in the air because of issues with our equipment. Use this article as a guide to keep your DJI fleet in a state of DroneSense readiness.
Operating System
Because new versions of some apps might not be available on old operating systems, it is important to make sure that you're on the latest stable version of the operating system for your device.
DJI Native Apps
Keeping your native apps updated is incredibly important. The native apps are where firmware updates come through, and on the DJI side its also where GeoFence unlocks and Fly Safe updates happen.
Without the most up to date app versions, you may not be getting access to new, critical aircraft updates.
- DJI Apps (Pilot, Go, Go4, Fly)
- Fly Safe Database
DJI Aircraft & Sensor Firmware
Firmware is updated through the native apps or DJI Assistant.
- The Fly Safe database should be updated regularly as this has a direct impact on GeoFenced areas and can negatively impact your QEP or custom unlocks.
- Both firmware updates and Fly Safe updates will typically toggle off any QEP or custom unlocks you may have within your fleet. Ensure these are active after every update.
IMPORTANT: DO THIS IN DJI FIRST THEN ENSURE THEY ARE ACTIVE IN DRONESENSE
DroneSense
Updating the DroneSense apps is key in making sure you have the most up to date aircraft support and the most stable version of the platform possible. The app will notify you if an update is available. You also can subscribe to release notes here on the Support site to keep informed of the latest releases.
