This update improves airspace awareness, dock workflows, and map visibility in DroneSense Remote. Highlights include IDS-B airspace integration, SafeSky ADS-B status indicators, dock maintenance confirmation prompts, launch site delete protection, larger airspace icons, and several fixes for airspace, camera, DFR, and integration behavior.
Availability is rolling out by region. See Deployment Status at the bottom of this page for details.
Airspace and Situational Awareness Improvements
IDS-B Airspace Integration
Intra-DroneSense Broadcast System (IDS-B) is now available as an opt-in feature.
When enabled, IDS-B allows drones operating within the DroneSense platform to appear on the map in real time. IDS-B can be requested for a single organization, such as your own organization, or for multiple participating organizations that need to share aircraft visibility. Organizations must be added to an IDS-B group before drones are visible through IDS-B. To request access, complete this form.
The drone location, heading, altitude, and organization are displayed for each tracked drone.
Once IDS-B is activated, enable IDS-B under the Airspace settings.
IDS-B drones can generate TCAS alerts. Users can turn off these alerts for IDS-B drones and configure Min and Max Altitude Filters.
For more information about IDS-B and to request access, see Intra-DroneSense Broadcast System - IDS-B.
SafeSky ADS-B Status Indicators
Additional indicators have been added for SafeSky ADS-B, including Alert, Inactive, Error, and Offline. Pop-up alerts are also displayed to notify the pilot of any errors.
Dock and Launch Site Workflow Improvements
Confirmation Dialogs for Dock Maintenance Actions
A confirmation prompt now appears before executing dock maintenance commands, including connection refresh, dock restart, dock data erase, and SD card data erase actions.
Examples:
Refresh Dock Server Connection
Restart Dock
Erase Dock Data
Erase SD Card Data
Launch Site Delete Protection
A warning message now appears when a user tries to delete a launch site that has associated docks.
Map and Interface Updates
Larger Airspace Icons
Airspace detection icons are now larger and easier to identify on the map.
This applies to:
- SafeSky
- CASIA
- Dedrone
- MatrixSpace
Updated UKR Drone Icon
The Parrot UKR drone now displays a square map icon.
Bug Fixes
- Airspace objects not clearing: Fixed an issue where SafeSky aircraft were still being displayed on the map even if they had left the area or had gone offline.
- Two-minute flight path not displaying correctly: Fixed an issue where the projected two-minute flight path line for SafeSky aircraft was not rendering properly.
- Capture image button spacing: Fixed incorrect spacing for the image capture button.
- Dock emergency action options: Fixed an issue where the emergency menu for dock flights included a “Go To Site” option, even though docks cannot be sent to an emergency site. Dock flights now only show the applicable emergency actions: Declare Emergency and Cancel Emergency.
- Black screen on second DFR 1.0 flight: Fixed an issue where starting a second flight session for a DFR 1.0 drone caused the video feed to display a black screen.
- Dedrone loading when disabled: Fixed an issue where the Dedrone airspace integration attempted to load data even when it was turned off.
- Camera toggling with game controller: Fixed an issue where switching camera modes using a connected game controller was unreliable.
