The Airspace Management Tab provides a space for all Airspace Management systems within the DroneSense Remote ecosystem. This will include all current and future integrations, such as the SafeSky ADS-B integration, uAvionix Casia G, and the subject of this Article, the MatrixSpace Radar.
To access the Airspace Management Tab, navigate to DroneSense Remote and click the Airspace Management icon.
From this screen, you can access the DroneSense Remote SkySafe ADS-B integration Settings and add additional Detect And Avoid (DAA) systems integrated into DroneSense Remote.
Adding the MatrixSpace Radar
To add DAA Systems, the user can click the Add System Icon in the Airspace Management Tab.
This will prompt the user to select the Airspace System by clicking the appropriate icon, in this case MatrixSpace Radar, and selecting Next.
By clicking next, the following information will be required, which will be provided via MatrixSpace once the user account has been set up within the MatrixSpace System. Once the necessary information has been entered, the user will then click "Add System" adding it into DroneSense Remote.
MatrixSpace Radar User Interface and Settings
Once the radar is added, it will need to be toggled on.
Once both radio buttons have been toggled on, the system will display the sensor locations and detection rings associated with each sensor.
To edit the Radar Settings, click on the three dots directly to the right of the system's Radio Button, which will bring up the option to Zoom to, Edit System, or Remove System. In this case, we want to click on Edit System.
From there, you will pull up the menu to edit the system, adjust filters, object visibility, and Radar Display Settings.
In this screen, the user can edit the display name and set filter options.
Filter Options
The filter options will limit the number of returns that appear on the screen.
The Altitude Filter will filter out returns above the altitude setting, so that only returns below, in the example above, 5000 feet will appear.
The Velocity Filter (MPH) will filter, and when enabled, will limit returns to only those moving at speeds above the set speed in Miles Per Hour. In this case, objects moving less than 50 miles per hour will be filtered out and not displayed.
Visibility and Display Settings
Object Type Visibility Options allows the user to select the type and classification of return data that is displayed. This will be based on the user preference.
The User can select:
- Plane
- Drone
- Helicopter
- Car
- Pedestrian
- Background
- Unknown
- No Detection
The Radar Display Settings enable the user to select the information displayed graphically on the screen according to their preferences.
This includes the following:
