Creating and Editing Flight Records

Flights conducted using the DroneSense Mobile app are automatically uploaded to DroneSense Web, even when performed offline. Once the app is connected to WiFi or an LTE network, all data gets synced.

You can also manually add flights. This can be useful for drone flights not supported by DroneSense or by a cooperating organization that does not use the DroneSense platform.

Complete the following steps to manually create a flight.

1. On the Flights page, click Add Flight. 
   You also can click the + button at the top of any page and select Flight.
   
2. Provide all available information for the following fields:

   *Required fields are highlighted in red.

   Required Fields Name Was this a training flight (Toggle ON if creating a training flight) Pilot Name (Select from the dropdown menu) Team (Select from the dropdown menu) Start Date (including time) Once you enter the Start Date, you can use the Flight Duration fields to enter the duration and automatically update the End Date. Set Day or Night Hours for Flight Optional Fields Distance Traveled (Feet) Max Distance to Pilot (Feet) Max Altitude (Feet) COA ID Any notes or other relevant information you want to add

3. Click SAVE.
4. On the Flight record page that appears, add Missions, Drone, Hardware, Location, and Incidents (as needed) in their corresponding fields. You can leave those fields blank if you do not have any of this information.
5. If you need to create multiple manual flights, you can click the Clone button to create a duplicate.
   
   1. After you clone a flight, click Edit Details to change the details like the Start Date.

Editing Flights

Most flight data are automatically gathered and cannot be edited. There are a few fields that you can change once the data is recorded, and you can add notes and other changes to an existing flight record.

Complete the following steps to edit a flight record.

1. From the Flights page, select the flight you want to edit.
2. If you need to edit the name or add more notes, click Edit Details and click Save when you are finished.
3. The following fields can also be edited:
    - Drone: Select one drone from the list
    - Hardware: Select the Batteries and Tablet/Controller
    - Crew: Team Member and Mission Role
    - Location: where the flight originated
    - Mission: a combination of flights around a common event or initiative
    - Incidents: accidents, equipment damage or failure, lost link events, and so on
    - Teams: which team or workgroup in your organization for the flight
