Important Update: DJI v5 Drone LDM Authentication Key Renewal*
This release renews the DJI Local Data Mode (LDM) authentication key for v5 drones, including:
- Mavic 3
- Matrice 30
- Matrice 300
- Matrice 350
- Mini 3
To avoid any service interruptions, you must install this update before June 4, 2025.
DroneSense Pilot app versions 2025.3.19 and later must be updated.
Customers must update to version 2025.5.15 by the deadline, or the drone will no longer connect to the app.
*Note: This authentication key renewal does not affect the Axon Air Pilot app.
New and Improved Features
Map Layer Manager Enhancements
- Base map layers are now included in the Map Layer Manager, while still accessible from the right-side map controls.
- ADS-B settings have been moved from General Settings into the Map Layer Manager.
- The Show Sensor Points (SPOIs) switch was moved to the Map Layer Manager.
SafeSky ADS-B Integration
- Safesky ADS-B Integration has been added to the map to improve airspace awareness.
- Tap on an aircraft for more details.
- The SafeSky traffic updates every 5 seconds.
- All aircraft currently use a fixed-wing icon at this time.
- No 2-minute vector option is available to display on the map, showing where the aircraft is projected to be in 2 minutes based on its current speed.
- Breadcrumbs are shown for Safesky aircraft, similar to aircraft from DJI’s ADS-B.
- Aircraft detected by both DJI ADS-B and SafeSky may appear duplicated; to resolve this, you can turn off one of the layers.
Biometric Authentication
- Biometric authentication has been added to the Pilot and CoPilot apps for capable devices (not for smart controllers).
Bug Fixes
- M300 with Smart Controller Enterprise: FPV pill button now displays correctly.
- The default secondary view now shows the map instead of FPV (affects M30, M300, M350).
- Fixed app freezing when adjusting flight plan actions using +/- buttons.
- Fixed an app crash that occurred when launching the app offline on specific devices.
International:
- Fixed issue with ADS-L traffic that would disappear in the app.
*Note: ADS-L is not used in the U.S.; this only impacts international customers.
Known Limitations / Issues:
- DFR 1.0 Flights Only:
If a user initiates a go-to waypoint while under Auto Height, the drone will maintain its current altitude instead of ascending to auto height. This could result in the drone unintentionally flying through geofences.
