DroneSense Mobile for Android
Version 2024.7.25, available from dronesense.com/android
[Update, 7/29/2024: Google Play Store version is now available.]
New and Improved Features
- Updated the UI for how aircraft and markers are displayed:
- New drone icon for pilot's aircraft
- New icons for other drones in the same DroneSense mission
- Reduced the size of markers and other assets on the map to reduce visual clutter, especially for small screens
- Added display of the altitude of other drones in the same mission based on setting (relative to your aircraft in MSL, AGL, or MSL)
- Added support for ADS-B traffic display for DJI V5 aircraft:
- Altitude filter option under general settings
- Added new setting for DS Traffic warnings
- Option to adjust vertical and horizontal separation limits
- Completed several updates to accessory support:
- Added generic accessory support for DJI V4 aircraft
- Added speaker support for LP12 that includes ability to record and playback audio files, text to speech, adjust volume and speed, rename and delete audio files
- Added support for GL60 Zoom spotlight, which includes ability to enable/disable, set normal or flash mode, adjust brightness and adjust focal zoom
- Added additional stats for video streaming quality to OpsHub. The Cloud icon in the top status bar will now change color based on connection:
- Green cloud: Optimal video quality with low latency and jitter
- Yellow cloud: Passable quality video, with some degradation due to some combination of stress on the device hardware, network quality, or other factors. Results may include reduction of frame rate, image clarity, increased latency, or other symptoms
- Red cloud: Significantly impacted video quality due to acute stress on the device hardware, network quality, or other factors. Results likely include poor frame rate, degraded image clarity, increased latency, or other symptoms.
- White cloud: Connection has been initiated with Ops Hub but video has not started streaming yet. Streaming of drone telemetry may be working in this state.
- Cloud icon with a red slash through it: no connection to Ops at all. No video, no telemetry (i.e., offline)
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue that could cause video stream restarts within a flight
- Fixed an issue where Enable Live Streaming toggle could be toggled off unexpectedly
- Fixed an issue where waypoint lines on the map would blink after being placed and swapping batteries on DJI V5 aircraft
