A bug has been identified in DJI Mavic 3T firmware V17.01.05.08, released May 7, 2026. We recommend remaining on V16.01.00.03 until a fix is available.
Issued: May 15, 2026
Affected Hardware: DJI Mavic 3T
Affected Firmware: V17.01.05.08 (released May 7, 2026)
Recommended Firmware: V16.01.00.03
Issue Description
Setting the camera's Photo Resolution to 48MP and then capturing a photo at 7× zoom or greater will cause the camera feed to freeze for the remainder of the flight. Specifically:
- The video feed will be frozen in both Pilot 2 and the associated app for the remainder of the flight.
- The aircraft retains full stick control throughout, so a normal landing remains possible.
- The camera may remain locked at a high zoom level until reboot, which can affect yaw sensitivity.
- A full landing and reboot is required to restore normal camera function.
Note: Downgrading the firmware from V17.01.05.08 back to a previous version does not reverse this behavior once it has been triggered. The aircraft must be rebooted on the ground.
Affected Conditions
The issue is triggered when all three of the following conditions are met:
- Aircraft is running firmware V17.01.05.08
- Photo Resolution is set to 48MP
- A photo is taken at 7× zoom or higher
Recommended Actions
| If you have... | Action |
|---|---|
| Not yet upgraded | Do not upgrade to V17.01.05.08. Remain on V16.01.00.03. |
| Already upgraded to V17.01.05.08 | Avoid setting Photo Resolution to 48MP until further notice. |
| Already triggered the issue | Land normally and reboot the aircraft before resuming operations. |
Additional Notes
- The 48MP photo resolution setting for the Mavic 3T will be removed in an upcoming app release to prevent this issue from being triggered.
- This advisory will be updated when a safe firmware version is available.
