Update: Issue Resolved
This issue has been resolved in the latest version of the DroneSense Pilot application. Users should install the most recent release (2026.1) and ensure they are running the latest firmware versions:
- Aircraft: v16.01.00.03
- Remote Controller: v02.01.08.02
- DJI Pilot 2: v16.1.0.46
If you are still experiencing camera or video feed issues, please reset the camera using the Reset Camera Settings option in the new version, then restart the drone before your next flight.
We want to make you aware of a critical compatibility issue affecting DJI Mavic 3 Series drones running the latest firmware release (v16.01.0003) when used with the DroneSense Pilot application.
The Issue
When operating on firmware v16.01.0003, attempting to capture a photo while using optical zoom beyond 7x may cause the video feed and user interface to freeze.
Current Workaround: If a freeze occurs, you must power cycle the drone (turn it fully off and back on) to restore functionality.
Our Recommendations
If you have NOT updated yet: We strongly recommend postponing the update to v16.01.0003 until a resolution is confirmed.
If you HAVE already updated: Please avoid using zoom beyond 7x when capturing photos to prevent mid-flight interface failures.
Status
Our team is actively working to address this matter. We will provide an update as soon as a fix is available. Please follow this page for further notifications.
