Status: Resolved. The login issue affecting DroneSense Web and DroneSense Remote users in the US and Canada has been resolved. If you continue to experience login trouble, please contact support so we can look into it.
What happened
Multiple agencies across the United States and Canada reported being unable to log into DroneSense Web or DroneSense Remote. This started around 17:30 EST. The cause was traced to a change AWS rolled out to Amazon Cognito, which handles authentication for the DroneSense platform. This was not related to how recently any account had logged in — active, regular users were affected as well.
Who was affected
- Organizations across the US and Canada were affected as AWS rolled out the change.
- This was not limited to accounts that hadn't logged in recently — users with active, regular logins were affected too.
- This issue was limited to the DroneSense platform (Web and Remote) only.
Resolution
Our engineering team implemented a workaround for the AWS Cognito change. We validated the fix through testing, and it is now confirmed to be working.
