Dedrone is an RF-based counter-UAS detection platform. When integrated with DroneSense Operations Hub, Dedrone sensor data surfaces directly within Operations Hub, giving your team real-time airspace awareness alongside flight operations.
⚠️ Beta Feature — Important Compatibility Notice
The Dedrone integration is currently in Beta and only supports Dedrone's legacy API. If your Dedrone account has been migrated to Dedrone's newer API, this integration is not currently supported, and setup will not succeed. Please check with the Dedrone team to confirm which API version your account is on before proceeding. We are working to add support for the new API in a future release.

Prerequisites
- Administrator access to DroneSense Operations Hub
- The Dedrone feature is enabled on your account (Submit the Dedrone Integration Request Form)
- Confirmation from the Dedrone team that your account is on the legacy API
- Dedrone credentials: Organization ID, Client ID, and Client Secret

Instructions
Step 1: Enable the Dedrone Feature
Overview: Open Mission Manager Settings and enable the Show Dedrone checkbox to reveal the Dedrone Settings button.
- Log in to your DroneSense account and navigate to Operations Hub.
- Open Mission Manager if not already visible.
- Click the gear icon (⚙) to open Mission Manager Settings.
- Scroll to the Show Dedrone checkbox (marked BETA) and check it.
- The Dedrone Settings button will now appear at the bottom of the settings panel.
- Click Save (or continue to the next section).
Step 2: Open Dedrone Systems
Overview: Click Dedrone Settings to open the Dedrone Systems window.
- Click Dedrone Settings.
The Display Options at the top control what information appears on the map for all connected systems:
- Display Velocity: Show drone speed
- Display Identification: Show drone ID
- Display 2 Minute Flight Path: Show the projected two-minute flight path
- Display Source: Show which sensor detected the drone
Step 3: Add a Dedrone System
Overview: Click + Add System and enter the credentials provided by DroneSense or Dedrone.
- Click + Add System.
- Enter a Display Name for this connection (e.g. your agency or site name).
- Enter the Organization ID.
- Enter the Client ID.
- Enter the Client Secret.
- Confirm the Enabled toggle is on (blue).
- Optionally configure Altitude Filters (Min/Max altitude) and Detection Filters (Visible Aircraft Types, Show ADS-B, Show DroneSense Drones).
- Click Save.
After saving, the system should appear in the Systems list. It may take a few moments for the status badge to update.
Important: All three credential fields (Organization ID, Client ID, Client Secret) are required. The connection will fail if any credentials are incorrect. Credential fields cannot be edited after saving. If any credentials are incorrect, delete the system and repeat the Add Dedrone System step.
Step 4: Confirm Connection Status
Overview: Review the status badge to confirm the connection succeeded.
- CONNECTED (green): Credentials are valid, and DroneSense is receiving data from Dedrone.
- OFFLINE (grey): The system is disabled — the Enabled toggle is off.
- ERROR (red): Connection failed. Verify your credentials with the Dedrone team, then delete and re-add the system.
Step 5: Check Sensor Status
Overview: Verify that all Dedrone sensors are reporting correctly.
Click the sensor status icon (radio wave icon) next to any connected system to open the Sensor Status window.
This lists all Dedrone sensors in the system and their individual health.
If all sensors are OK, an overall OK badge will be displayed. If there are any errors, an overall ERROR badge will be displayed.
Sensor types you may see:
- VIDEO / IPCAM: IP camera video feeds
- RADIOBOX: RF detection radio
- WIFI: Wi-Fi drone detection
- ECHOSHIELD: EchoShield RF sensors
- DRONESENSE: DroneSense integration feed
- RADIO: Radio detection
- SKYDIO: Skydio drone video/data feed
- AICONNECTOR: AI processing connector
- ADSB: ADS-B transponder detection
Editing an Existing System
Overview: Use the Edit icon to update a system's display name, filters, or enabled state.
Systems displays the list of systems that have been added to your account, along with a toggle to Enable/Disable individual systems, a sensor Error indicator, an Edit icon, and a Remove* icon.
*Remove: Currently, there is no confirmation prompt when you click Remove, and the system will be removed immediately.
- In the Dedrone Systems list, click the pencil (✏️) icon next to the system.
- Update the Display Name, Enabled toggle, Altitude Filters, or Detection Filters as needed.

- Bird
- Home
- Balloon

- Click Save.
What You'll See in Operations Hub
Once connected, Dedrone detections appear on the Operations Hub map based on your display options and filters. Depending on the configuration, detections may show velocity, identification, projected flight path, and source sensor. Display options and Detection Filters together control what information appears on the map.
Troubleshooting
I encountered an unexpected error or behavior
As a Beta feature, some issues are expected. Please submit the Dedrone Integration Feedback Form so we can investigate and improve.
Show Dedrone checkbox is not visible in Mission Manager Settings
The Dedrone feature flag is not yet enabled on your account. Submit the Dedrone Integration Request Form to request activation.
System shows ERROR status after saving
One or more credentials are incorrect. Verify the Organization ID, Client ID, and Client Secret with the Dedrone team, then delete and re-add the system.
System shows CONNECTED, but no drone detections appear on the map
Confirm Display Options are enabled in the Dedrone Systems panel. Check the sensor Error indicator to view the list of Dedrone sensors and their status. Also, verify that Detection Filters are not excluding all aircraft types.
I don't have credentials or need new ones
Submit the Dedrone Integration Request Form, and the DroneSense team will follow up with your credentials.
Setup fails, and I'm not sure which API version I'm on
Contact the Dedrone team to confirm whether your account is on their legacy or newer API. The current Operations Hub integration only supports the legacy API — if your account has been migrated to the newer API, integration is not yet available. We are working on adding support in a future release.
