DroneSense CoPilot is a standalone application available on Android phones and tablets.
NOTE: iOS support for iPhones and iPads on CoPilot is coming soon!
Installing DroneSense CoPilot
DroneSense CoPilot is available on Android searching for DroneSense CoPilot in the Google Play Store.
CoPilot has a slightly different app icon from the main DroneSense piloting app:
CoPilot Features
CoPilot provides the following capabilities:
Mobile Streaming and Tracking
CoPilot supports our optional Mobile Streaming and Tracking (MSAT) capabilities, which allow you to stream your device's location and camera feed to Operations Hub. MSAT users can opt to just share location data or share video and location, even with the CoPilot app running in the background.
NOTE: MSAT functionality is no longer included in DroneSense Mobile for Android as of version 2024.4.17. Selecting MSAT from the Mission Selector will launch (or download if not already installed) DroneSense CoPilot.
Screensharing for Nonsupported Drones or Features
CoPilot also enables you to stream the screen of your mobile device to Operations Hub, including other flight control applications such as those used with MAVLink or Skydio drones, or when flying a supported drone while using the native flight control app such as DJI Fly to take advantage of an unsupported feature or detachable sensor or other attachment. This way, you can fly drones that do not support native flight control in the DroneSense app and still stream video and pilot location to Operations Hub.
Future support for creation of flight logs, drone telemetry, and support for a wide range of MAVLink drones is in development and will be available soon!
