LAANC lets you request FAA authorization to fly in controlled airspace without leaving DroneSense. Here's where to find it today — detailed setup and usage instructions are coming soon.
What is LAANC
Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) is an FAA program that streamlines airspace authorization for drone operations in controlled airspace. Normally, flying in controlled airspace requires FAA authorization, and LAANC automates that request through approved industry partners, so eligible requests can be approved in near real time instead of requiring manual coordination.
DroneSense submits LAANC requests through Versaterm Aloft, an FAA-approved UAS Service Supplier (USS). The FAA still makes every authorization decision; DroneSense and Aloft simply provide the channel to submit your request and return the result to your workflow.
