While DroneSense is designed as a drone-agnostic platform, the current state of the industry favors drone hardware produced by DJI, Inc. Therefore, the majority of our integration effort has been to support users of DJI drones and related hardware (controllers, batteries, gimbals, and so on).
When managing a drone program, it is crucial to keep in mind that DJI is responsible for managing and maintaining their hardware and related software.
There can be occasions when a DJI firmware update causes issues with your specific hardware, or interfere with the operation of DroneSense software. We generally recommend that users be cautious when performing DJI firmware updates, and always perform test flights before flying a mission on new hardware or immediately after a firmware update.
