DroneSense is announcing its End of Support (EoS) for the Autel EVO and Autel EVO II v1 aircraft for the DroneSense mobile apps effective August 31, 2024.
Autel Robotics has provided the following guidance for their support commitments on the following aircraft series:
Autel Robotics Series | Autel End of Availability | Autel End of Support |
EVO | January 2022 | June 2022 |
EVO II v1 | June 2021 | June 2024 |
This does not affect support for the EVO II v2. You can use this article from Autel to identify whether you have an EVO II v1 or v2 aircraft: https://www.autelrobotics.com/news/954/
With their EOS designation, Autel stopped providing repair services, device replacement, and ongoing firmware development. Based on this discontinuation of development and of availability of replacement devices, DroneSense has made the decision to end ongoing support for these aircraft.
For organizations with a continuing commitment to Autel Robotics aircraft, DroneSense recommends the EVO II v3 or Max 4 Series devices for organizations seeking to replace these older devices.
While these aircraft will continue to work on the DroneSense platform after their EOS dates, DroneSense will no longer test backwards compatibility for them in its mobile apps, nor develop or test new software features for these devices.
With this change to EOS status, DroneSense customers are welcome to continue to use Autel EVO and EVO II v1 aircraft. However, technical support for any hardware-specific issues will no longer be provided. Customers flying the Autel EVO that experience support issues unrelated to these aircraft will still receive the same high level of 24/7 support needed to support operations.
Even with this End of Service designation, customers will continue to be able to manage their Autel EVO and EVO II v1 aircraft and maintain all associated flight and hardware data in the DroneSense Web interface.
